March 2020 Webinar Presentation Slides (PDF, 2.29 MB)

Our first webinar, “Creating Solutions: Recovery in the Opioid Crisis,” focuses on evidence-based practices (EBPs) that can help communities combat substance use disorder, particularly synthetic opioid use. It gives an overview of the EBPs we plan to highlight in 2020:

  1. Targeted Naloxone Distribution

  2. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

  3. Behavioral Health Assessment Officers

  4. Initiating Buprenorphine-based MAT in Emergency Departments

Over the next three years, we will be sharing stories from rural Appalachian communities that have implemented these programs. We will be posting research and toolkits to support communities in their efforts. We look forward to connecting with you to understand your community’s needs and better support you.

We welcome your feedback! Fill out a brief survey about the webinar.

Presenters:

  • Gloria Baciewicz, MD, University of Rochester Medical Center

  • Michele Lawrence, MBA, MPH, University of Rochester Medical Center
