RCORP - Rural Center of Excellence on SUD Prevention

Cassandra Berbary, PhD

Dr. Cassandra Berbary is an assistant professor of psychiatry in the Division of Addiction Psychiatry and training director of the Rochester Psychology Internship Consortium at the University of Rochester. Her clinical and research interests focus on substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, particularly among youth and emerging adults, and technology-based behavioral health interventions. Her research includes developing avatar-assisted cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions for youth with co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns and technology-based approaches to address youth vaping. She is a co-investigator on a NIDA-funded project examining an avatar-assisted CBT platform and principal investigator of a HRSA Graduate Psychology Education grant.
